However, the exterior design of the new Jaguar vehicle is claimed to have been created with the body of curvy Kate Winslet in mind. Yes, the designers at Jaguar have modeled the vehicle's design after actress Kate Winslet.Or perhaps that vehicle parked beside your car has been created with a shark in mind. However, this new Jaguar is one of the most unique ways the auto world has ever heard about a car design's inspiration.
Upon learning about the Jaguar vehicle modeled after her own body, the actress looked quite impressed. She was recorded to have said, "Apparently, the man who designed this car decided that I, for whatever reason, was his ideal woman so he, I guess, was inspired by the shape of my body."
She shares, "The headlights aren't big enough. They'll have to go. They never called me up and said, 'Would you mind if I did this...?' It's kind of flattering... but I would have liked to have been involved."

Cougar Ace's Sea Tragedy Leads to Mazda Vehicle Scrapping

Mazda Motor Corp. announced earlier that all Mazda vehicles from Cougar Ace, a car-carrying vessel would be scrapped. Said vessel nearly capsized off the Aleutian Islands in late July this year.Mazda announced that none of the Mazdas carried will be sold as new. The automaker also added that it is possible that those vehicles which are undamaged or repairable will be made available for sale as used cars through Mazda's dealer network in the US and Canada. In addition, Said Mazda vehicles are US and Canada-bound. "After thorough testing by engineers from our North American and Japanese R&D centers, we decided the most appropriate course of action -- with our customers foremost in mind -- was not to sell any of the 4,703 Mazdas aboard the ship," said Jim O'Sullivan, the potential for future problems led the company to reconsider its initial decision to sell any of the vehicles as used."We always put the customer first. This drove our decision to scrap every one of the Mazdas involved in this incident."

PIN Reports Compact Vehicles to continuously gain share in the US market

According to real-time retail transaction data from the Power Information Network (PIN) a division of J.D. Power and Associates, compact vehicles are still gaining a greater share of the US new vehicle market as more models of compact cars are made available for consumers. The compact share of the total new vehicle market rose from 27.9% in 2005 to 31.2% in 2006. During that time, the share of the midsize vehicles dropped from 42.8% to 40.4% while the share of the large vehicles plummets from 29.4% to 28.6%.Last December 2006, five out of the seven segments with the fastest turn rates were compact vehicle segments, with the compact premium CUV (28 days) ranking 1st and the compact basic car (35 days) segments ranking second.styling and functionality are additional factors that contribute to the compact vehicle share growth. Libby also stressed that the prices of gas in 2006 may have caused some consumers to shy away from purchasing larger cars and trucks.
. Likewise, percentage of owners of both midsize and large non-luxury vehicles trading to a compact vehicle increased as well from 20.8% to 25.8%. There is also an increase from 7% to 9.1% among large non-luxury vehicle drivers.
